This week we continue the mediaeval fantasy theme started last week with The Witcher, but with something altogether more relaxed. Trine was a much underrated game so there’s every chance you missed the soundtrack. Thankfully I’m here to remedy that.
To sum up, Trine is 2D puzzle-platformer with gorgeous art direction, mechanics that allowed for enormous degrees of experimentation and replayability, an incisive yet gentle sense of humour and a soundtrack by the marvellously talented Ari Pulkkinen.
Trine was a quiet success, eventually clearing a million copies sold and a sequel has since been released. Ari Pulkkinen has thankfully reprised his role as composer and the soundtrack is as gently mesmerising as the first:
